We continue our video series on UPSs and their batteries. Today we tested the EXIDE EL1000 Start-Stop EFB 100Ah battery. Why are we testing car batteries specifically for UPSs? This isn't right, on the one hand; it's more logical to choose traction batteries, Deep Cycle AGM, or GEL batteries. Yes, these are exactly the batteries intended for UPSs. But we're going through tough times right now, and we need to find simpler and cheaper models. Having used a $250 deep cycle AGM battery that only lasted 7 years, I started considering an alternative: using a less expensive car battery. Perhaps modern batteries, with some modifications, can still work in a UPS. I'd also like to point out that the UPS itself and its settings for different battery types remain an important component. The battery life depends on it.
