Why War Of The Worlds Ending Is Actually Good

Is The War of The Worlds Ending Bad? Is a video by pupbenny in which I set out the arguments for why the ending of HG Wells War of the Worlds is said to be a bad deus ex machina end, along with many of the other criticisms of it's conclusion, and set out the reasons for why this may actually not be the case. Spoilers for War of the Worlds, obviously, ranging from the 1898 original H.G. Wells book The War Of The Worlds, the 1953 George Pal War of the Worlds film, the Steven Spielberg Tom Cruise war of the worlds 2005 movie and to a small degree (?) the recent 2023 version War of the Worlds The Attack. Well I show some screenshots of the end of it anyway but I don't reference it directly. At 8:48 I accidentally wrote 'grandfather' instead of 'great-grandfather' in the text. I say 'great-grandfather' though so that's okay I guess. Just clarifying that it should be 'great-grandfather'. Oh yeah also at the beginning I say 'I don't disagree with the idea of the ending being a deus ex machina' and then I end up arguing throughout this video that it actually isn't a deus ex machina, which is kind of weird.
