Les Dawson meets Bob Monkhouse
Let's cut to the chase: who in their right mind would have imagined that Les Dawson and Jim Carrey ever shared stage and screen time? And yet, as the credits roll, there the two worlds do indeed collide. Unfortunately, Jim's main bit wasn't on the tape, but the trademark eloquence and musical stylings of Les very much were. He's just back from a health scare and starts in an obviously mischievous mood, then he and Bob riff on Cissie and Ada and Cosmo Smallpiece, before we finally get what we all came for: the piano. Enough said. I think the original broadcast date was Monday, 27th January, 1986, but I'm willing to be corrected on that. (If you're a copyright holder and have any objections, please feel free to contact me. Alternatively, I haven't monetised the video, so you're welcome to do so, and that way everybody wins.)
