The Worst Day of Our Week-Long ADV Bike Adventure: Northern California BDR, Day 4

The midpoint of our week-long attempt to ride the entire Northern California Backcountry Discovery Route start to finish on ADV bikes was Day 4. We awoke rested and refreshed after making the late night decision to get a hotel for the night in Graegle at the end of NorCal BDR Section 5. Then in the morning we hopped on the KTM 790 adventure, Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, and Moto Morini X-Cape 650 and headed out to take on the steep rocky climb and sandy sections at the beginning of Section 6. After a close call on NorCal BDR Section 6 where we lost track of Jeff for 30 minutes, we regrouped, checked out the Argentine Mountain and Mt. Hough lookouts, and then headed down the mountain into Taylorsville for an amazing lunch and milkshake. After Taylorsville...our NorCal BDR trip took a turn. That afternoon of adv riding was probably my least favorite of the trip and by the time we made it to chester at the end of Northern California Backcountry Discovery Route section 6, we were ready to be done for the day. The afternoon of Day 4 was probably the low point of the trip for me.
