Pigeon Pose Hip Stretches (and variations)
Pigeon yoga pose can be used to stretch the outer thigh and outer glutes of the front leg. It can however be bad for the knee if done haphazardly. In this video I go over how to set up your pigeon pose so that the hips are level. I also show you how to activate the front leg to make it safer for the front knee. I also include some variations on pigeon pose. Note that another option for pigeon pose in which it is easier to keep the knee safe is a version where the front leg hip is on the floor.
