June 30 | Civil groups rally against anti-immigration protests
The Ahmed Katharada Foundation has held an Online Rally today under the banner: "Defend Democracy. Reject the Shutdown." The event brings together representatives from civil society, labour, faith-based organisations, community structures and other democratic formations to voice opposition to the planned June 30 shutdown call, and discuss its potential implications for social stability, livelihoods and constitutional democracy. The event aims to provide a platform for a broad range of voices to engage on the issues raised by the shutdown call and to articulate alternative approaches to addressing South Africa's challenges. We are joined by Executive Director of the Kathrada Foundation, Neeshan Balton. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
