Rato Machindranath Jatra (bunga dyah jatra) is a Nepalese longest celebrated chariot festival which is held in Lalitpur, Nepal. The festival is dedicated to Bunga Dyah who is also known as Karunamaya (the God of compassion ), an aspect of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara and is popularly believed to bring the monsoon rains. He is also identified as an aspect of the Hindu saint Machhindranatha. The chariot festival is held according to the lunar calendar, so the date is changeable between April and May. 《Women pulling Rato Machindranath Chariot》 A specific section of the Rato Machhindranath Jatra procession involves women exclusively pulling the chariot between the localities of Iti and Thati.
