How to PTEX at HOME Like a PRO | Ski & Snowboard Base Repair | SKI Lab

There is a pervasive amount of misinformation and poor demonstrations regarding DIY PTEX repairs for skis and snowboards. Lets set the record straight, show you guys how to drip PTEX with the best possible success (and what to watch for), plus 2 other accessible options to up your game with home base repair kits. A quick word on PPE- Always make sure you mask up and/or do wax and repair work in a well ventilated place. We have pretty bomber vacuum vents around and above each bench and we don't use masks while we film (so we can hear what Brando is saying) but this stuff is toxic! [Not demonstrated in this video is the solder iron technique, which is also rad and is totally doable with a nice broad solder tip.] Edit: Brando goofed- the blue flame is cooler and the orange flame is hot, thereby burning up the candle producing the excess soot. Low and slow is the game, just keeping the fire lit and melting the poly-stick without letting it flame up. Home PTEX KIts: https://www.starthaus.com/products/sw...
