Kasuti Embroidery
Kasuti, also known as Dharwad or Karnataka Kasuti (hand embroidery), is done on sarees, blouses, pillows, bedspreads, etc. To give a fillip to this traditional craft and emphasise it as an employment creation opportunity for women, NABARD Karnataka Regional Office, Bengaluru launched its first Off Farm Producers Organisation in association with Initiatives for Development Foundation, an SHG Federation working in Dharwad. The film portrays the success achieved through this intervention, facilitating enhanced livelihood for 300 such women beneficiaries.
