Veterans Oral History - Charles W. Jack Jr. January 8, 2026
Charlie Jack joined the Air Force after graduating from Ludlow High School in 1960. “Airplanes were my thing,” he said. Trained as an aircraft mechanic, Jack would become part of the crew of a JKC-135A research plane. His tour of duty included a monitoring mission off the coast of Norway, where Jack saw the detonation of a Soviet H-bomb. Jack also spent two months in Fiji during the U.S. bomb testing program
