CHIARAJE GRANIZO DE PIEDRAS Y RÍOS DE SANGRE

Pukllay (game) or Tupay (meeting) is a daily expression between two social groups to celebrate the ritual act of gratitude and foresight in Ch'iarahe. Hanan (Ch'eqa) and Urin (Q'ewe), complementary opposite halves, represented in human groups (Hanan and Urin), voluntarily gather on January 20th of each year at the heights of Canas. Ch'iaraje (black rock) is a sacred space located between Apu Londoni and the Qankawa plateau, the site of these ritual encounters. To reach this place, it takes approximately 55 minutes from the city of Sicuani (Cusco, Peru). Small buses and vehicles provide services to witness this ritual moment of the Ch'eqa and Q'ewe inhabitants; families can also travel in their own vehicles. Local, national, and international visitors are welcome; there is no entrance fee; the cost is only for transportation and food. Otherwise, the prices are comfortable and quite accessible.
