From 1987 Time Capsule to Fabulous 2026 Home

Chuck and Edie recently completed a beautiful full-home remodel on Chuck’s Mid-Island home on St. Simons Island, Georgia. After losing his wife several years ago, Chuck met Edie. While Edie had been happily living her best single life, the two connected and have been together ever since. When Edie first visited Chuck’s house, she found it neat and tidy, but completely stuck in 1987 - the year he built it. The home still had its original dark paneling, small closed-off rooms, dated light fixtures, old kitchen cabinets, and bathrooms that hadn’t been updated in decades. With her gentle encouragement, a simple suggestion to paint the red brick fireplace turned into a year-long renovation that touched every room in the house. Edie, who works part-time at B&B Design & Consign, has a natural talent for decorating and refreshing spaces. She brought that passion to Chuck’s home, and Chuck’s daughter Jennifer eagerly joined the project. Working together, the three of them completely transformed the house. They opened up rooms, closed off old doorways, gutted the kitchen and bathrooms, and updated the home with new flooring, new paint, new trim, and a new front door. The finished house now features all new fixtures, appliances, furnishings, and beautiful original artwork. What makes Chuck and Edie’s story especially special is their love for shopping local. They made a conscious effort to support small businesses and local artists on St. Simons Island. Nearly all of their furnishings, fixtures, and appliances came from local shops.
