Summer is almost here and these five spots might be a great place to go camping or just a day trip for a quick fishing sessions. Easy fishing access: Thomas Reservoir in Erie, Colorado, is highly rated for its peaceful atmosphere, flat 0.8-mile walking loop, and excellent mountain views. Dog-friendly, uncrowded, and well-maintained. Beginner fishing access: Milavec Reservoir, The flat trail loop provides beautiful panoramic views of the Front Range and is a popular spot for birdwatching, jogging, and walking dogs.The reservoir is regularly stocked with rainbow trout, and anglers also report catching catfish, panfish, largemouth bass, and occasional pike. Intermediate fishing access: Carter Lake Reservoir Larimer County Park has a stunning red-sand scenery, clean, deep waters, and great access to boating and fishing just minutes from the Northern Front Range. However, the area gets highly congested on weekends, and some visitors warn of strict rule enforcement and crowded campsites. Advance fishing access: Eleven Mile Reservoir is Top-Tier Fishing. Anglers highly praise the reservoir for its excellent angling. It is a premier spot for landing rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and kokanee salmon, as well as northern pike. Hard fishing access: Gross Reservoir, has a winding steep dirt roads leading to the reservoir and can be rough. Some fishing spots are hard to reach due to the shoreline steep rocky and unleveled.
