Revealing Johns dream build, LX SS Torana Hatchback.

On todays episode we check out a well thought out build. John bought his 1976 LX Holden Torana hatchback in the early 90's. It had a 6 cylinder engine and was a run of the mill SL model. But John had a dream.......he wanted to build his version of the car. He drew inspiration from all the different paint combinations and running gear. And I think he has built this car many times in his head before commencing. The first evolution was to make it a V8. So he bought an SLR5000 and got the 253 v8 and the drivetrain and swapped it into his hatchback. Fast forward to 2015 when John took it off the road and stripped it for a full restoration. his full dream could be realised. he had it painted white and had the blackouts done the way he liked them. A full body kit was fitted as John loves the Torana flairs. Then he filled them with some 14 inch Hotwire Wheels. He upgraded the engine to a 5 ltr 304. Purely because a good 308 is getting hard to find. and he wanted the VN heads set up. Its got a supra 5 speed gearbox in it and a Borg Warner diff. The trim is herringbone with grey dash panels. It still has the original radio with the Bluetooth upgrade. SS steering wheel finishes it off nicely and the trim as a whole presents immaculately. John has really put his heart and soul into this build and has got it just the way he likes it. It is a stunning car that presents immaculately.
