In today's rapid room tour and honest cabin review, we are taking you inside Cabin 2511 located on Deck 2 of the Marella Discovery cruise ship. If you are currently booking a budget cruise holiday with Marella Cruises and wondering what you actually get for your money in a standard lower-deck cabin layout, we are laying out all the pros, cons, and hidden quirks of this tiny living space so you can perfectly prepare for your next vacation at sea. We start our cabin tour near the entry door, highlighting its fantastic location on the ship. This room is situated just around the corner from the main lifts and elevators, which we found incredibly handy rather than noisy. Even better, there is a public drinking water outlet station literally just steps away in the corridor to easily refill your bottles. Moving inside, we examine the storage layout, including handy wall hooks for coats or bags, and a surprisingly huge wardrobe closet featuring a concertina door setup with long and short hanging spaces where you can seamlessly slide your heavy luggage cases out of the way. Next, we step into the tiny bathroom. We offer a realistic warning about the narrow door entry angle, which might feel tight and awkward for larger or taller passengers. We break down the standard sink layout, the compact shower stall equipped with a clingy shower curtain, and the powerful vacuum flush toilet system. While the bathroom layout is looking its age and shows some wear around the door frame, it provides plenty of hot water and gets the job done just fine. Moving into the main vanity area, we show you the hidden kettle storage setup, deep drawer spaces, and an integrated digital room safe that can fit a large tablet or iPad, though it is not quite laptop-sized. We also highlight a crucial tip for international cruisers: the limited number of electrical sockets and outlets in this cabin means you absolutely must pack a travel plug adapter for your phone chargers and camera devices. We discuss the room's excellent, bright vanity mirror lighting which is perfect for doing makeup, the adjustable flatscreen TV with news and sports channels, and the unusual chaise longue sofa that we mostly used for dumping our extra bags on. We also give a massive safety warning about the bed frame layout! The bed consists of two single mattresses pushed together into a comfortable double, but they sit inside a sharp metal tray arrangement. Watch your calves and shins, because banging your ankles on this metal tray is a painful rookie mistake you want to avoid! Despite showing some signs of age, like worn drawer handles, peeling varnish, and chipped paint, the large mirrors give the tiny room a great sense of space. We wrap up our cruise review by sharing our absolute exhaustion after an intense DIY walking tour of Barcelona, Spain, where we walked all the way to the famous Sagrada Família basilica and back, leaving us completely wiped out for our final night. Finally, we give a shoutout to fellow travel creators Giles and Lisa from the "Traveling Light" channel, who previously reviewed this exact same cruise cabin room!
