Historic Moment in Indian Railways: First Electric Run & Fading Diesel Era on the New Pamban Bridge!

Firstly wishing all my fellow railfan friends and all my humble subscribers a Very Happy Diwali. I hope this festival of lights season had bring joy and prosperity to you and your family. On this special occasion, I would like to present a compilation on an exciting yet Historic Railfanning outing which I had undertaken at Rameswaram and partcicularly at the India's most dangerous Railway Bridge i.e. Pamban Bridge as the Diesel locomotives basked in their final glory days and the Electric locomotives paved way into this new territory of Ramanathapuram-Rameswaram stretch of Southern Railways network. I undertook my journey to Rameswaram on the same day when the first Electric run approval was sanctioned for selected trains like Sethu Superfast Express, Boat Mail, Tirupati-Rameswaram Express and a few more trains on end to end basis which thus meant that the Diesel Glory days were now approaching a sad end in Rameswaram line. Thankfully, a few passenger trains and Express trains were delayed in the Electric traction change notice and thus when I reached Rameswaram, I was able to get a good amount of Diesel capture in my trip which really made me feel content as all Diesel action was not gone. During the same day, I was also able to capture the first Electric run of 'The Legendary' Boat Mail and Madurai-Rameswaram Express which gave this RF excursion a whole new essence. Sadly post this day of my RF, the Diesel traction for the passenger trains were subsequently gone and the remaining trains plying on the Ramanathapuram-Rameswaram section will also change to Electric traction. Thankfully, I was able to relish the mixed actions of Diesels and Electrics which gave a fairy tale ending to the glorious Diesel Era in the Ramanathapuram-Rameswaram section. Special thanks to Shashak Kashyap sir from Bangalore who were already there in Rameswaram for a week to spot the last Diesel days in Rameswaram region and over New Pamban Bridge and who helped me a lot in making my trip to Rameswaram a big success.
