Kalonzo Musyoka blasts William Ruto over Yatta NYS Land allegations

H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, today responded to allegations by President William Ruto concerning the alleged grabbing of public land belonging to the National Youth Service in Yatta. Speaking to the media, H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka firmly dismissed the claims, presenting documentary evidence including land ownership records, court rulings, transaction documents, and an official letter from the National Youth Service. The letter confirms that the land in question does not belong to the National Youth Service but to the original allottee, as per the Letter of Allotment Ref. No. 14308/111, who later sold the land to him. He criticised what he described as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public, emphasising that facts and legal records must always prevail over political propaganda. In a strong rebuttal, H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka challenged President William Ruto to publicly account for and substantiate ownership of several disputed properties, including Weston Hotel, the 900 acre Murumbi land in Narok, the 100 acre Adrian Muteshi land where the President was found guilty and convicted, and the 2,536 acre parcel in Taveta, where residents have reportedly faced displacement. He further questioned the source of these acquisitions, revisiting longstanding public concerns that earned the President the nickname “Arap Mashamba.” H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka also called for full transparency from the Office of the President, urging that all assets linked to the presidency be subjected to a comprehensive public audit in the interest of accountability. He affirmed that a future government under their leadership will prioritise strict audits for all public officials, stressing that the era of unchecked accumulation of wealth and looting of public resources must come to an end. He concluded by reiterating that leadership must be anchored on integrity, truth, and accountability to the people of Kenya.
