In this video, I'll show you my favorite recipe for oven-baked pulled pork: with homemade BBQ rub, an aromatic cooking liquid made from apple juice and vegetable broth, and an extra crisping at the end. The meat becomes so tender that you can easily pull it apart with two forks—perfect for pulled pork burgers, sandwiches, or bowls. ... ✅ Low & Slow in the Oven (110°C/230°F) ✅ 10 hours cooking time + 20 minutes crisping at 170°C/340°F ✅ Great for freezing & reheating You can find the full recipe in a relaxed format on my blog at https://www.tastybits.de/rezepte/flei... Ingredients (for approx. 4–6 servings) Meat approx. 1.3 kg (3.3 lbs) boneless pork neck Rub / Spice Mix 2 tsp salt 2 tsp brown sugar 2 tsp paprika powder 1 tsp smoked paprika powder approx. 1 tsp peppercorns 1 tsp garlic powder (or garlic granules) 1 tsp onion granules Cooking Liquid 100 ml (3 fl oz) apple juice 100 ml strong vegetable broth (instant is perfectly fine) Finishing Touches 2-3 tbsp BBQ sauce (optional, but fantastic) Preparation (Quick Guide) 1. Grind the rub in a mortar and pestle (salt, sugar, paprika, smoked paprika, pepper, garlic, onion) 2. Massage the rub thoroughly into the meat 3. Vacuum seal or wrap tightly in cling film 4. Marinate overnight/24 hours in the refrigerator 5. Place in a dish, add apple juice and broth, and seal tightly (aluminum foil or lid) 6. Cook for 10 hours at 110°C (230°F) using conventional oven settings (top and bottom heat) 7. Then cook for 20 minutes at 170°C (340°F) for a crispier crust and more flavor 8. Pour off the pan juices, shred the meat, and gradually add the pan juices back in (season to taste) 9. Optionally, stir in 2-3 tbsp BBQ sauce Tips & Notes Seal the aluminum foil tightly to prevent the meat from drying out. No moisture escapes. The pan drippings contain a lot of flavor, but also salt: add gradually and taste. Meal Prep: Pulled pork freezes beautifully in portions. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then reheat in a pan or microwave.
