AGE Annual Conference 2025: ‘Intergenerational Solidarity in Europe - Multistakeholder Meeting'

European Commissioner Glenn Micallef's mission letter asks him to develop an Intergenerational Fairness Strategy. In a context of celebration – where people are living longer and healthier lives across the EU – this is a crucial moment for the EU to support a vision of equality, where everyone has equal rights at all stages of life and where the experiences and perspectives of older people are fully taken into account, to ensure that they can live a life of dignity and face the challenges ahead. AGE’s 2025 Annual Conference will seek to contribute to the EU Strategy on Intergenerational Fairness; discuss the common goals and issues that younger and older generations share; how older people contribute to our society on an equal footing with other generations to face current and future challenges; and finally, how intergenerational solidarity can be a way to tackle ageism.
