Pour la Paix is one of the very few Xenakis' mixed (instrumental-electronic) pieces. The texts from Françoise Xenakis refer to the atrocities of incessant wars and to the unnecessary anguish and suffering they cause through the story of two childhood friends that become soldiers in enemy camps. The nostalgia of their common happy memories elevates them above the horrors of the war, but does not prevent their inevitable death from a grenade explosion.
