The 17-year-old has become one of the most recognizable young faces among the Palestinians. Having protested against the Israeli occupation since childhood, repeatedly attracting media attention, she was imprisoned in December 2017: Ahed claims she punched and kicked Israeli soldiers in front of a camera after her cousin was shot. The video went viral, and she was subsequently arrested. At the end of July 2018, Ahed was released and promptly became a new "symbol" of Palestinian resistance against the occupation of the West Bank. On the Israeli side, she and her prominent family are viewed as terrorist sympathizers and Israel-haters. ► ... Ahed shares her experiences in prison and whether she now regrets her actions. She discusses her understanding of protest: throwing stones, writing poems and songs – what is acceptable? Does she reject violence, and how does she deal with Hamas's terrorist attacks?
