Variegated Alocasia Care For Beginners

Info I missed in the video: 1. Light requirements - Bright indirect light, I have them directly in my South East facing window. Zone 8a, ATX. 2. Water when dry down to 1" like pretty much everything else ---------- The US (namely Central Texas) just received a shipment of absolutely variegated Alocasia that sold out in under 24 hours of unboxing at the big box stores we found them at. I was fortunate enough to pick up a bunch of them for my plant friends and had one pot left over for gifting to friends as holiday presents. There have been some questions asked by friends who are new to Alocasia in the local facebook groups so I decided to share a video of how to care for and split the plants up into smaller pots to lower any anxiety we might have about doing this. I hope this video finds you well. P.S.: If you're new to Alocasia, don't worry about all those leaves that are falling off; They're going to fall off regularly. Typically one new leaf comes in and the oldest leaf will fall off. I've maxed my other Alocasia out at around 6-7 leaves and they look great. Also, they're going to go dormant in the winter and this might be magnified due to their recent relocation into our homes; If yours goes dormant, don't worry.
