The indie horror genre is a very bizarre one because it's basically one big tent covering so many different types of games with completely different qualities. However, in 2014, it began to change dramatically after the surprising release of P.T., which ended up becoming the driving force behind motivating indie developers to step up their work and create something equally terrifying. Subsequently, the number of games in the market has exponentially increased, but the problem is that most of them did not live up to expectations, and they usually get buried under the shadows of a few actual good games.
