GENERAL PHAN VAN GIANG RECEIVES MALAYSIAN AMBASSADOR On the afternoon of June 29, General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense - received the Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam, Dato Tan Yang Thai, and congratulated the Ambassador on completing his term of service in Vietnam. DEFENSE COOPERATION CONTRIBUTES TO PROMOTING VIETNAM-UAE RELATIONS On the afternoon of June 29, at the Ministry of National Defense headquarters, General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense - received Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Mohammed Al Alawi, Deputy Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who was visiting and working in Vietnam. ACCELERATING AND BREAKING THROUGH IN DEFENSE AND ECONOMIC PRODUCTION General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, and Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, attended and delivered a directive speech at the Conference on Resolutions for the implementation of tasks for the last six months of 2026, organized by the Party Committee of the General Department of Defense Industry, on the afternoon of June 29. PLANNING OF THE POLITICAL ACADEMY'S BARRIER FACILITIES: INTEGRATED AND SCIENTIFIC General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of National Defense, chaired a meeting with the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services and related agencies and units on the overall planning of the Political Academy's barracks facilities on the afternoon of June 29th. BUILDING THE MEKONG DELTA INTO A SOLID DEFENSE ZONE To maintain peace in the southernmost part of the country, strengthening the defense zone is a strategically important task, given the increasingly unpredictable security and defense situation and non-traditional security challenges. This was the central focus identified by the Party Committee of Military Region 9 at the conference to issue a resolution on leading the implementation of military and national defense tasks and building the Party Committee of Military Region 9 for the last six months of 2026, held on the afternoon of June 29th.
