This is the fifth installment in a series where we interview leading dermatologists about the paths they have taken, the encounters and opportunities that have shaped their current careers, and what they would like to convey to young doctors based on their own experiences. Featuring: Maiko Kato, M.D. (Osaka Minami Medical Center, National Hospital Organization) Profile After graduating from Kinki University School of Medicine in 2005, she joined the Department of Dermatology at the same university. She engaged in clinical practice and research, and obtained her PhD from the same university in 2015. Since 2019, she has been involved in education and research as a lecturer at Kinki University School of Medicine. She has gained extensive experience in dermatological practice at the university and affiliated facilities. Since 2023, she has been the Chief of Dermatology at Osaka Minami Medical Center, National Hospital Organization. In 2025, she will undertake a short-term study abroad program at the University Hospital Zurich and the Department of Dermatology at Aarau State Hospital to deepen her international knowledge.
