Repair of the VW Beetle Car Alarm, investigation and how to troubleshoot the system.

Repair of the VW Beetle Car Alarm. This Video is to help you if you have a VW Beetle (2005 to 2010) new style with facelift and need to fix the car alarm that keeps going off. The alarm on this vehicle kept triggering without any interaction or disturbance inside or outside the vehicle. The vehicle had been left outside while fixing another car, resulting in the vehicle getting very wet from the all night rain. The car was put back into the garage and allowed to dry out for a couple of days although there was no indication of rain ingress, but it was suspected that water or humidity had somehow got into some of the electrics. The next day or two the same thing happened and the alarm went off inside the garage, but this time it kept going off (annoying loud siren) at various times and needed resetting several times during the day. After investigation and troubleshooting the system it was determined that the issue was probably the boot switch. This Video is to help guide you along the path to confirm the fault, what to try and the best way to fix the issue. This Video applies to the VW Beetle Car only, 1.6 (Overhead CAM Engine) built between 2005 and 2010. I hope this information proves useful.
