The Barry Harris 'Move: 'One Trick Pony' VS 'No longer a Phoney.' Major Sixth Diminished
I've been watching clickbait pianists on Social Media posting this one Barry Move. It does sound great (Well come on, it's a Barry's move! Of course it sounds great. ) From the Major sixth diminished scale. But I wanted to share my thoughts about that, and what I believe most non Barry pianists are missing out on. This move is not the only move you should play. Barry is demonstrating the possibilities when moving the diminished notes through the scale. Borrowing notes, moving notes. If you really want to learn the Barry Harris methodology in depth, I HIGHLY recommend you checking out Chris Parks. Link to his channel below: @thingsivelearnedfrombarryh2616
