Is the the Volvo EX60 better than Xiaomi YU7?

Xiaomi is China's latest and hottest car company – and they are challenging Tesla. They started selling cars in 2024 and are aiming for 550,000 cars sold in 2026. This looks like a tough target, given how brutally competitive the Chinese market is right now. As of today, they are losing around $4,000 per sold car… The brand is set to arrive in Europe in 2027, but nothing is known yet regarding a Swedish premiere. The YU7 is the brand's second model, a mid-size SUV in the same size class as the Volvo EX60 – which, interestingly, will not be sold in China. There is a massive variety of configurations, and the technology level is as high as it gets. For context, Xiaomi is a company that sells all kinds of consumer electronics, but they dared to do what Apple didn't: start manufacturing cars. I rented a Long Range version with rear-wheel drive in China… and compared it to the EX60.
