The Lore: The Return of Adyr The story centers on a demon god named Adyr who ruled the world with cruelty until he was overthrown by the Judges and the Hallowed Sentinels. To keep him imprisoned, five "Beacons" were created across the land of Mournstead. However, over centuries, the Hallowed Sentinels became corrupt, and the Beacons began to fail, allowing Adyr’s influence to seep back into the world. The Mission: The Dark Crusader You play as a Dark Crusader, a warrior chosen by the Umbral Lamp. This magical artifact allows you to see into and travel between two parallel worlds: Axiom: The world of the living. Umbral: The terrifying world of the dead. Your main objective is to travel across Mournstead, defeat the "Sentinels" guarding the five Beacons, and decide the fate of the world. The Three Major Endings Like your favorite RPGs, your choices lead to very different conclusions: 1. The Radiance Ending (The "Standard" Hero Path): You cleanse all five Beacons. You eventually face and defeat Adyr’s physical manifestation. Adyr is banished forever, but the world remains under the strict, often fanatical rule of the Church of Radiance. 2. The Adyr Ending (The "Dark" Path): Instead of cleansing the Beacons, you choose to empower them with Adyr’s rune. You become the Lord of the Fallen—Adyr’s champion on earth—and help the demon god return to full power to rule humanity once again. 3. The Umbral Ending (The "Secret" Path): This is the most difficult to achieve (similar to the secret endings in Wukong). You betray both the Church and Adyr to serve the Putrid Mother, the goddess of the Umbral realm. You effectively end the cycle of gods by pulling the entire world of the living into the world of the dead.
