“I’m Sober Now” Danny O’Keefe

I’ll tell you what Danny O’Keefe wrote some fantastic songs, including this one. I first came across Danny O’Keefe‘s name by looking at the liner notes to Jackson Browne‘s album “Running on Empty” when I was a kid, and I saw that he wrote the song “The Road.” Then I heard this great song called “Good Time Charlie’s Got the Blues,” also by O’Keefe. So I got his 1972 album O’Keefe and was hooked. Of course many years later I liked “When You Come Back Down” a hit by Nickel Creek and, you guessed it: O’Keefe. I remember really liking this song and another one off that O’Keeffe album called “Shooting Star.” My hunch is that very few of you have ever heard this song, but I like it and the track is full of pedal steel swells and cries and a little fiddle. Anyways I hope there is something here you like, even if it’s just the fall light on a late afternoon in October. Thanks for listening 🙏
