The Search for Eston Mine 🇬🇧
Eston Nab (a rocky promontory) sits between Redcar, Guisborough & Middlesbrough. It is the site of Bronze Age burial mounds and an Iron Age hill fort (what looks like later roman wall remains) as well as a look out point during the Napoleonic war & World War 2. I search for Eston Mine, a mine for ironstone used from 1850 - 1949. will I find it? More information on the mine & some really cool photos of what it looked like are here https://cmhs.org.uk/information-and-r... and here https://co-curate.ncl.ac.uk/eston-mine/
