The route runs largely north-south along Lake Kasumigaura's shoreline, weaving through rural farmlands and traditional settlements. The terrain is flat with some long, straight, and open stretches. Vast rice paddies and fields spread out along the roadside, creating a distinctive agricultural landscape. The road offers a unique blend of lake scenery and rural countryside views. Along the road are Funatsukayama Kofun and Takahama Shrine in Ishioka City, sites of significant historical and cultural interest. Kasumigaura Aquarium in Kasumigaura City offers exhibits on lake ecosystems. Ayumizaki Forest Park provides lakeside views, while the Environmental Science Center offers hands-on learning experiences about the environment. Local specialties such as lotus root, chestnuts, and pears are well known, and sold at Roadside Station Tamatsukuri and local farmers' markets. This route provides access to seasonal flavors and local cultural insights. It is a route enriched with both natural scenery and agricultural attractions. We travel from the endpoint in Tsuchiura City via Kasumigaura City to the starting point in Ishioka City this time. The end of this route was changed in March 2024 from the intersection with the former Route 354 to the intersection with the Route 354 Bypass, but this video includes travel along the section prior to the change.
