merry christmas yorkminster sunday afternoon evensong carillon bells

now this is yorkminster on a sunday after noon only a week ahead from the 8th of december the 15 of december 2024 more christmas carols on the carillon tunes were down yon forest o come o come emanual and some other new ones which were very very nice just leading up to christmas i came on friday the 13 of december no carillon was played because of a school concert and a brass band was on but i think they play the york carillon most sunday afternoons from 315 till 4pm and if the carillon isnt being played then they ring a quarter peal on the full peal of 12 bells the 4th heaviest like exeter cathedral is thank you for playing the york carillon from stuart mills i really really enjoyed the tune playing least the weather had a bit of blue sky no rain no bit blustery at times but we cant controle the weather the good thing is i got more tunes from 3 15 till 5 to 4pm then some ringing on the back 6 bells grandsire triples i think i got to york around 1 pm no carillon i think they only played it around quarter to 1 till 25 past 1 because they were practicing ready before christmas better doing this every sunday in december from 3 15 till 4pm still day light hours more or less
