Vibrato Sample Approaches (CSW, VSL, Infinite Woodwinds)
As part of my woodwinds exploration recently, here are three approaches to vibrato you might find in your sample libraries. (These can also be applied to strings but in this video we will show the Cor Anglais aka English Horn.) • Vienna (VSL) Synchron uses a crossfade • CSW uses the On/Off transition • Infinite Woodwinds (IW) uses controls for depth and speed — there is no recorded vibrato Paul from Spitfire also has a great video about the "on/off" approach, in his video here: • How NOT to use samples #1 - Woodwinds!
