Afghanistan’s Outlier: How Tamim Ansary Sees the World?
Tamim Ansary is an Afghan-American writer based in San Francisco. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1948, to an Afghan father and an American mother, and lived in Afghanistan until he was 16. Then he came to the United States to go to school and never went back. He has written many books including The Invention of Yesterday: A 50,000-Year History of Human Culture, Conflict, and Connection; Destiny Disrupted: A History of the World Through Islamic Eyes; The Story of My Life: An Afghan Girl on the Other Side of the Sky; West of Kabul, East of New York: An Afghan American Story; Games Without Rules: The Often Interrupted History of Afghanistan; and Road Trips, Becoming an American in the vapor trail of The Sixties. In this conversation, I have talked to him about his latest book “The Invention of Yesterday” and how his own personal experience shaped his view of the world. #TamimAnsary #book #story #Afghanistan #Outliers
