SCENERY - how good do the stations and rest of the maps look, is this quality equally spread around the map or too good in some places and dead and empty in others? ROLLING STOCK - how good do the trains look, what is their variety and customisation, has the game only got british express trains for example, and least importantly, do the liveries look nice SOUNDTRACK - This is your menu music, announcements, horns, train sounds, everything about a game that involves your ears REPLAYABILITY - how large is the map, are there dispatcher, guard, ticket master or signaller roles? Does the game get boring, are there good routes? Everything plays into this REALISM - are the operators varied and different, and do they all have reasons to exist, i will also be adding the branding DRIVING SYSTEM - To me this is very important, I believe driving systems should be equally realistic and challenging, you shouldn't just spam W or S, but the average person should be able to use it without extreme difficulty or watching a 10 minute video beforehand made by someone who didn't even develop the game PRICING - is the game free or paid, how much do the trains and routes cost, is the currency system fair or require months of grinding, are there gamepasses and are they cheap, every train route and thing being free will get you a 3 at most, everything requiring weeks of grinding gets you a one, its about balance here OPTIMISATION - is the game laggy or unplayable for people on bad devices, is mobile and tablet support enabled for both playing and driving. COMMUNITY - is the game frequently updated, is there support for content creators, competitions, transparency and outreach. is the community kind and welcoming or toxic and revolutionary, and I don’t mean the modern kind.
