Why I Left Legalism

This is part of my story - a story from legalism to grace. It is a story of how God brought me through maturity to see the Bible, God and others through the lens of grace rather than through the pseudo-security of legalism. Legalism makes promises it can't keep. Legalists think they are sure but in reality they aren't. In reality many legalists live in constant fear because they bought a lie about the gospel - that you have to get their by your own merits. But you never know if you have done enough because there is no room for grace. Relationships with people in other Christian churches also helped me change my mind. I finally realized that as much judgment as I had for them that they were more loving and Christ-like than I was...that they had more fruit of the Spirit than I had. That just can't be denied.
