We went all the way to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with one goal in mind, finding the floating mountain that inspired the Jame Cameron movie franchise Avatar! But we are not looking for any Avatar mountains, we are looking for the one and only Zhangjiajie Hallelujah Mountain formerly known at the Southern Sky Column. After a quick ride on the world's largest outdoor elevator the Bailong Elevator we started to explore this incredible and very unique National Forest which has an incredible bus network ready to take you anywhere your heart desires. Since we visited during China's low tourism season, the crowds were manageable but don't get us wrong, some areas were packed! We highly suggest a full day to properly explore the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and make sure to ride the Tianzi Mountain Cableway as this was truly the highlight of our day.
