Ms. Lee Sang-hee says she visits Seoho Market every day to shop, as she can find fresh seasonal fish and vegetables year-round along the bustling market streets that are busy from early dawn. She visited Grandma Nyeon-u's restaurant for breakfast. Grandma Kang Nyeon-u, who has been running a traditional Korean meal restaurant in Seoho Market for 23 years, has been responsible for providing hearty breakfasts to merchants working in the early morning dew, preparing different soups and side dishes every day using fresh seasonal ingredients. When mealtime arrives, Grandma Na Bok-hee from the side dish shop and nearby merchants gather one after another at Grandma Nyeon-u's place. Grandma Kang Nyeon-u describes her cooking as rustic. Ms. Lee Sang-hee says that while the meal looks like something her mother always made at home, the taste is by no means ordinary. Above all, it is said to be a restaurant where you feel at ease while eating, making you want to keep coming back. 20-year regulars are the norm, and customers serve themselves side dishes.
