Crazy Hike in the Darién Gap for the Pirre Hummingbird

The rare Pirre Hummingbird is found on the Panama/Colombia border on a few ridges in the Darién province of Panama and the adjoining Choco district in Colombia. Both the male and female have pale outer cinnamon buff tail feathers and a small cinnamon patch on the wings. The beak is black with some pink at the base of the mandible. The male is mostly green above and below. The female. has a rufous throat and whitish abdomen.
