SANDY & LUNA ON NEST w/ BEAKIES! SHADOW IS MOBBED ON FISH DELIVERY! RER'S! LUNA ROOSTS ON ST 7.11.26

Sandy & Luna were away from the nest out exploring! But as evening rolls in, they both return to the nest and share some beakies and feather nibbles. They are starting to be more independent during the day but they still return home to be close to one another. Shadow arrives with a partial fish and he gets mobbed! He drops the fish and pulls his toes back and let's Sandy & Luna battle it out for possession. Sandy gets the fish and eats it - Luna does try to make a steal but Sandy had pretty much eaten the fish. Sandy goes to the front porch while Luna rests briefly in the nest. Shadow made a fish delivery earlier today on the Simba tree and it is believed that it was Luna that got to eat it on the branch! (Footage not included in this video) So, both Sandy & Luna got something to eat today. It is important to note that in the wild, eagles do not eat every day. That is why they have crops to store food on days fishing or hunting is poor. Sandy & Luna will learn to eat as much as they can when they find food to be able to last until they successfully find/steal food again. Sandy does two Rear End Rubs on the nest today! Luna flies to Simba Tree to roost tonight and Sandy is on the front porch! They can see one another from their respective perches even though they are apart. Although Jackie has not been in cam view very much this past week, she is still close by keeping watch on her territory and all the visiting eagles around the lake. Shadow continues to be the main provider of food.
