Sheep Farming: Learning To Use A Shepherd's Crook!|April 2022
As usual at Ewetopia Farms, we start each episode waiting to see what the day will bring. Sheep farming is part routine and part surprises. And it is always trying to get everything done. Today as we were doing chores and the lambs were playing out in the yard, we thought we would try catch a few with a shepherd's crook we purchased months ago. We just never got around to using it and initial attempts were unsuccessful. But once you discover how to use it correctly, it is a great sheep farmer's tool. We show some practice runs with it and the various results. The afternoon was meant to be time off with us going for a hike. But a call from neighbors requesting a visit changed our plans. Instead, we brought visitors in to feed bottle babies and spend time with the lambs. We would love for you to become a daily visitor to our working sheep farm in Joyceville, Ontario, Canada and become an honorary Ewetopian!
