Schumann Romance In F Sharp Live On 1864 Erard #classicalmusic #classicalpiano #pianocover

Schumann wrote his three Romances, Op. 28, in 1839. He considered them to be amongst his greatest works. The second of the group is the best known, a love duet featuring one of his characteristically soaring melodies. The work represents his love for his fiancée, Clara, one of the 19th century’s most gifted pianists. It is a piece that she always held close to her heart and performed regularly. She requested it to be played to her on her deathbed. The Romance was performed as an encore at my recital, "Lisztomania" in October, 2025.
