Voice That Leads Us Home

Gwen asks us, "What voice are you following?" At the time of Jesus, shepherds didn't have fenced pastures — their flocks mingled in open fields, and the only way a sheep knew where to go was by recognizing its own shepherd's voice. The same is true for us. We live in a world overflowing with noise: news cycles, social media, political rhetoric, fear, and distraction. Some of those voices are loud. Some are persuasive. And if we're honest, some are attractive. But the voices we listen to shape us — our hearts, our choices, our relationships, and the direction of our lives. On the Feast of the Good Shepherd, we're confronted with a simple but demanding truth: we cannot follow more than one shepherd. There is only one voice that leads us to life, to hope, and to the future God desires for us. Only one voice that knows us completely and calls us by name. Whose voice will you follow?
