: *Deputy Commissioner kulgam Conducts Extensive Tour of Main Town and District Hospital* Tanveer Wani *Kulgam, June 27:* Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, **Shahzad Alam**, today conducted an extensive inspection of Kulgam town and the District Hospital to review ongoing development and beautification works aimed at improving public infrastructure and civic amenities. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the ongoing beautification works in the main town and reviewed the progress of various projects being executed under the town beautification plan. He also visited the General Bus Stand at Laroo, where he assessed the available public facilities and directed the concerned departments to construct additional public toilets, improve sanitation, and further enhance the overall appearance of the area. The Deputy Commissioner later inspected the ongoing renovation and beautification work at the town's iconic **Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower)**. He reviewed the developmental initiatives being undertaken around the landmark and instructed officials to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining high standards of quality. As part of his tour, Shahzad Alam also visited the District Hospital Kulgam, where he inspected the ongoing construction of the *50-bedded Critical Care Block* and reviewed the progress of the **Integrated Public Health Laboratory**. He also inspected newly constructed hospital buildings, healthcare centres, and laboratory facilities, directing the concerned agencies to maintain the pace of work and ensure quality execution so that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe. Interacting with the media, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to transforming Kulgam town through a comprehensive beautification initiative. He informed that the *Ghanta Ghar* is being renovated as part of the project, while electric transformers in the town are also being shifted to suitable locations to improve both the town's aesthetics and public safety.He also inspected Hospital canteen He reiterated that the administration remains focused on strengthening public infrastructure, improving healthcare facilities, and creating a cleaner, more attractive urban environment for the residents of Kulgam.
