RIVERSIDE - Conceiving You (acoustic cover by Katie & Alex)

For 5 years me & ‪@KatieThompsonVocals‬ have been making music together. We found each other on the internet and, being located on the opposite sides of the globe, have also collaborated remotely. Last summer thanks to a few coincidences and the miracles of air travel - we finally met in person in the US. To commemorate this moment - of course we had to record something together! There were a few problems though. Besides barely having any time to do this, for the first time in my life I had an allergy. Turns out my body didn't support the midwestern climate at all and was expressing it through a sequence of sneezes, headaches & eye itchiness. I literally had to run to the bathroom to sneeze after every take. Thanks god the song is only 3 minutes long! Usually when recording our covers, we would prepare an arrangement, then record all the guitar and vocal parts separately. When all the audio is ready, we would set up our cameras, perform all the lip/finger-syncing stuff and then mix & edit the thing together. For our covers of ‪@SoenOfficial‬ & ‪@APerfectCircleTV‬ the whole process would take about 2 weeks. This time around, we spent about 2 hours to learn the song and work out the arrangement. Then another hour performing it live in front of a mobile phone & a room mic that would record our vocals & the guitar to one track. A couple of hours later I flew to New York and these recordings kept waiting for the mix & color grading. For 6 months.
