The welcome couldn't have been more regal. Sunshine at Mariano Escobedo Airport in Apodaca, but torrential rain in San Pedro. The unpredictable nature of our weather embraced the Japanese team. Upon arriving at the hotel, a group, mainly from the Mexican and Asian press, was already waiting for the Samurai Blue, as the Japanese squad is known, and among them the Japanese community who traveled across the Pacific to make the city of the mountains their new home.
