I had no idea they started making this car, or at least a version of it, all the way back in 1966. Crazy. Anyway my point being that it's been around for a while. A quick disclaimer. I daily commuter is a Toyota. And I generally like their cars. So keep that in the back of your mind, because my opinions might be slightly skewed by that bias...but I'll do my best to remain objective. Let's talk trim levels for a second. This is the LE which is one small step up from the base model (the "L"). MRSP: $19,135 (ish) UNDER THE HOOD: Engine: 1.8-Liter 4-Cylinder Transmission: with a CVT (a continuously variable transmission) with Shift Mode capability Horsepower: 132 hp @ 6,000 rpms MPG City: 28 MPG Highway:36 Combined Rating of 32 Fuel Tank Capacity: 13.2 gallon fuel tank Cost for a full tank: Current gas price (regular) $2.96 / Cost of a full tank: $39.07 Temporary Spare Tire Fabric Interior Regular Unleaded Gas Handling: Great handling. Really easy to drive. It feels smooth around corners and it's a breeze to park...although that's partly due to how small it is, but still, my overall point being that I liked how the Corolla handled. But remember, I drive a Toyota so I'm used to this type of handling...and it feels right to me, if that makes sense. Acceleration: A bit slow. I don't have an accurate 0 to 60 time to share, but it's not great. I was pretty disappointed by this, because I LOVED driving he '19 Camry, so I was expecting the same level of fun. Don't get me wrong, the Corolla performs well. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not as peppy as I was expecting. It worked great for the casual highway driving I needed it for. FINAL THOUGHTS: I know I was critical of the Corolla during parts of this video, but that's just me trying to give you an objective view of this car. This is a solid compact car, with great gas mileage, at a really reasonable price. So, I'm going to dive this one. RATING: 4 STARS Great car. I just can't give it five starts because of the lack of fun accelerations and the somewhat dated interior. But that's me. If you disagree, PLEASE leave me a comment below. Otherwise, thank you so much for watching and I hope you'll join me next time when I rent and review the 2019 Hyundai Accent. I'll see you then! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• CONTACT ME: [email protected] •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• TAGS: #100rentalcars #toyota #corolla
