Bruce Hampton was a key figure in the Atlanta, Georgia music scene, mentoring numerous other musicians who became national stars. His own musical style was avant-garde, combining elements of jazz, fusion, southern rock and jam band styles. Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit was a jazz fusion group. The band gained popularity in the early 1990s and went on to tour with the first H.O.R.D.E. Tour. I cannot express how much I like this group. They have such a unique musical style. Truly a Jam Band supergroup, every member is among the best on their instrument, especially in this genre... Here is a live track, "Compared To What"...
