Today we're discussing lighting, a key ingredient in creating captivating works of art (as cheesy as that may sound). In this video, we'll dive into the study of chiaroscuro and, more importantly, how its use can transform your drawings. At first glance, lighting seems like a secondary aspect of drawing. Just brush a brighter color over your work and there you have it. But trust me, it's not! The correct use of light can transform the atmosphere of your work, giving it depth and a sense of reality. Lighting can create magical effects (fireballs, and what else do these young people love?) and highlight the main elements of your work. But how do you achieve this mastery of chiaroscuro? Who knows! But together... we'll explore different types of lighting: bright - sunny, cool - moonlit, aggressive - red, calm - bluish, and a whole bunch more. Until now, I only knew most of this lighting in theory. But while preparing this video, I was able to try many of the techniques in practice. So today I want to share them with you; I could use some more training in lighting myself. So, sit back, because today we'll explore the mysteries of light and shadow in drawing together.
